Kate Marsden - Violin I

Kate Marsden began learning the violin at the age of six. Over the next ten years, she enjoyed making music with her school and borough orchestras. It was not until the age of seventeen that Kate decide that she wanted to be a full time musician, and so worked towards a place in one of the music colleges across England. She ended up studying at the GSMD under the guidance of Kryzstof Smietana and Stephanie Gonley. Here, not only did she develop her solo skills but also enjoyed much chamber music and orchestral playing.

Kate is now employed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and in addition plays in chamber concerts, including quartet recitals across England. She loves performing both traditional and experimental music and welcomes new ideas.
